Civilians among 6 dead, 13 wounded in Kandahar & Kapisa
KHANDAHAR CITY/MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): Six people, including children, have been killed and nine others wounded in different incidents in southern Kandahar and central Kapisa provinces, an official said on Tuesday.
One policeman and a civilian were killed and five policemen and a resident wounded as a result of an explosion in Kandahar’s Dand district, police spokesman Zia Durrani told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said police discovered a landmine in Ibrahim Khalifa Baba area. The device exploded when policemen were trying to defuse it.
In Shah Walikot district, one militant was killed and another wounded during an operation, in which security forces discovered 12 landmines and defused them.
According to Durrani, two children drowned when while swimming in a stream in the Panjwai district of the same province.
In Kapisa, a three-year-old girl was killed and six people including women were wounded as a result of clash between two families in Kohistan district, said the town’s administrative chief, Abdul Fatah Shafiq.
