KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): West Indies (WI) beat Afghanistaninfo-icon by six wickets in the opening match of Twenty-Twenty (T-20) limited overs series played at Warner Prk, Basseterre.

Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bat first. The visitors were off to a shaky start with five batsmen out for less than 50 total score in 11 overs.

Rashid Khan and Hamza were the only Afghan Batsmen who show some resistance with scoring 33 (27), and 21 (17) each.

Afghanistan hardly managed to set the target of 111 runs at the loss of 10 wickets in 20 overs.

In reply the West Indies batting side took a confident start. The top three carrabine batsmen showed their class and drive its side to victory with hitting the ball to the boundaries.

MN Samuels scored 35 (36), Lewis 26 (16) and Walton 22 (15).

West Indies is leading the three match series 1-0.
