KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The West Indies (WI) beat Afghanistaninfo-icon by six wickets in the opening match of the Twenty-Twenty (T-20) series played at Warner Prk in Basseterre.

Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bat first. The visitors were off to a shaky start, losing five top batsmen for less than 50 runs in 11 overs.

Rashid Khan and Hamza were the only batsmen who showed some resistance, scoring 33 and 21 runs respectively.  Afghanistan struggled to set the hosts a target of 111 runs.

In reply, the top three West Indian batsmen showed their class and handed their side an easy six-wicket win. MN Samuels scored 35, Lewis 26 and Walton 22.
